2. Who owns the copyright of the images or video clips?
All work remains the intellectual property of Mickey LF Lee and/or Associates of Mediamixer New Media, protected under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA). Photographs and videos are classified as “Artistic works” under UK law, which gives them strong legal protection. Copyright lasts for 70 years after the creator’s death.
3. If I commission the work, don’t I automatically own the images or clips forever?
No. Commissioning work does not transfer copyright under CDPA 1988. You receive a license to use the work for agreed purposes.
Under UK law, copyright exists the moment an image is captured—it does not require registration or formal proof. This applies to all images, from smartphone snaps to pictures taken with professional cameras, which we use because we place high value on creating work of the highest possible quality for your project.
4. Why is professional photography valuable?
Professional photography combines technical expertise, sector specific knowledge, creative vision, and years of training and experience—qualities that are often overlooked. Images we create reflects this skill and dedication, underscoring its value and usefulness.
5. How much value do I actually get from commissioning your work?
Example:
1 hour of photography or filming: £215 (2025 pricing, 1st hour, before subsequent hours and loyalty discounts, subject to change)
Number of high-quality images/clips: 20+
Cost per usable image: ~£10 or less
Long-term usage:
1 image on a website for 5 years: £2/year
10 years: £1/year
1 hour of photography or filming: £215 (2025 pricing, 1st hour, before subsequent hours and loyalty discounts, subject to change)
Number of high-quality images/clips: 20+
Cost per usable image: ~£10 or less
Long-term usage:

10 years: £1/year
This doesn’t include all the additional ways the image can be used, such as in print, social media, presentations, and more.
The cost of commissioning is minimal compared to the potential value our image can deliver — often 10, 100, or even 1,000 times greater. For reference, hiring the equipment alone would already cost as much. Commissioning work is worthwhile, as the potential return on investment can be substantial.
6. How does commissioning compare to buying stock images?
Stock images:
£15–£50 each for standard use
£100–£500+ for extended commercial licenses
Multiple images often needed, raising total cost

Commissioned work:
Custom-made for your project, branding, and vision
Far lower cost per image
Options for exclusivity, extended licenses, and buyouts
Commissioned work delivers far higher long-term value than stock libraries.

7. How does exclusivity work in practice?
Much of our commissioned work is effectively exclusive in practice, this includes:
Photos at private events showing faces of guests
Images showing specific branding
Images tied directly to your projects
Only images that are generic, of broad public appeal, or of historical, documentary, artistic or social interests may be licensed elsewhere at our discretion.

8. Why is it important to support professional creators?
In the UK, many photographers are freelancers or run small businesses, often with fluctuating income and no employment benefits. They carry responsibilities such as raising a family and affording the rising living costs in London. The fees you pay cover not only their creative expertise but also essential costs like insurance, equipment, professional development, and provisions for sick leave, annual leave, and pension—benefits typically provided to employed staff.
By respecting and supporting their work, you help creators sustain their profession and continue delivering high-quality, lasting value for clients. More broadly, artistic work like photography capture moments, people, and stories that reflect culture, heritage, and collective memory. Beyond their commercial use, you are contributing to a broader legacy that can be shared and appreciated for generations.
