The Boys: a virtual reunion during lockdown

For:
'45 Aid Society

Each year 6 candles are lit at the reunions of The Boys and their families. In 2020, families are asked to light theirs at home and send a recording of it to be put together. In all 100 families have participated from all over the world.

About "The Boys": World Jewish Relief, formerly known as The Central British Fund for German Jewry (The CBF), rescued and rehabilitated 731 child Holocaust survivors after the liberation of the concentration camps. The Jewish children, known as 'The Boys', although nearly 200 were girls, were initially brought to Windermere in the Lake District, and later to other hostels around the country, where they were given education, training, language skills and psychological assistance to help them integrate into British society.
